ALICE Awareness Week: November 1-5, 2021
As millions of households across Virginia continue to struggle to maintain financial stability in the face of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Rappahannock United Way is bringing attention to the thousands of families in our area who are unable to afford the basics for survival, despite working.
ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) is a way of defining and understanding the struggles of households that earn above the Federal Poverty Level, but not enough to afford a bare-bones household budget. Rappahannock United Way provided over $2.6 MILLION in rent and mortgage relief to 625 local ALICE households over the last year (July 2020-June 2021), but our work doesn't stop there.
Join us from November 1-5, 2021 as we raise awareness of the financially vulnerable households in our area during ALICE Awareness Week.
