We will not sell, share or trade our donors' names or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations. This policy applies to all information received by Rappahannock United Way, both online and offline, on any Platform ("Platform", includes the Rappahannock United Way website and mobile applications), as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications. To the extent Rappahannock United Way processes any donations as the third-party service provider, donor information will only be used for purposes necessary to process the donation. We use the information we collect from you to process gifts and to provide a more personalized experience. Rappahannock United Way may transfer some information to our agents for purposes such as clearing credit cards, or analyzing traffic to enhance your online experience, but always under strict confidentiality. The only time we would release personal information outside the provisions of our privacy policy is if we conclude, in good faith, that it is necessary to comply with legal requirements, to enforce our rights or to protect Rappahannock United Way, you or our other donors.

Who services the Rappahannock United Way website?
Rambletype – Rambletype provides technical assistance on our website and related apps, and assists us with analyzing content and traffic.
Constant Contact – RUW uses Constant Contact for surveys, event registration, and email registration. More information is available at www.constantcontact.com
GiveSmart – RUW communications with donors and supporters who choose to opt in to text messages. MobileCause also provides credit card processing services. Visit www.givesmart.com for more information.
Andar – RUW uses Andar, a customer relationship management system, to provide aggregate donation information to funded organizations and, for some campaigns, to collect pledge information.
How do I know that a transaction with Rappahannock United Way is safe?
If a user chooses to process their donation via www.rappahannockunitedway.org with a Debit/Credit card, the form accessed by the user is an embedded MobileCause form. The "s" in the url (https) signifies that the activity is conducted over a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) which means all data from rappahannockunitedway.org to mobilecause.net is encrypted and indecipherable to anyone but MobileCause. SSL is the industry standard, and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so it can't be read as the information travels over the Internet. Credit/debit card information stays with mobilecause.net and is not sent back to or maintained by Rappahannock United Way and does not reside at www.rappahannockunitedway.org or its server. Demographic data collected during the credit card payment process is transferred to Rappahannock United Way.
What if I don't want to use my credit card?
Simply call us at 540-373-0041 ext. 312 and we can take your pledge over the phone and discuss payment options. Donations by check can also be mailed directly to Rappahannock United Way, 3310 Shannon Park Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
What information does Rappahannock United Way collect? How do they use it?
-When you donate, our credit card processing system needs to know your name, e-mail address, mailing address, credit card number, the card's expiration date and the security code on the back of the card. This allows us to verify and process your credit card and fulfill your pledge.
-When you pledge, we need your name, e-mail address, company and mailing address.
-When you Join Our Email List, we need only your e-mail address and zip code.
-When you opt-in to a mobile giving or mobile information campaign, we need your cell phone number and name.
-We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important functionality changes to the Web site, new Rappahannock United Way programs or services, and special events we think you'll find valuable. At any time, you can opt-out of such communications.
How does Rappahannock United Way protect customer information?
When you make a pledge, we offer the use of a secure server. The secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. Furthermore, all of the customer data we collect is protected against unauthorized access.
Will Rappahannock United Way disclose the information it collects to outside parties?
Rappahannock United Way does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others.
