Impact Your Community
Volunteer at Rappahannock United Way to improve the lives of individuals and families in the Greater Fredericksburg area.
COVID-19 UPDATE: Even during these uncertain times, there are a few ways you can volunteer with us and still practice social distancing! Here are some ways you can help:
Tax Program Volunteering
JANUARY 1 - APRIL 15, 2021
We focus on helping hard working households gain the financial skills needed to be financial self-sufficient. We need a team of dedicated volunteers to help individuals prepare their tax returns and share financial resources virtually. You do NOT need to be a tax expert to volunteer; we provide training and support.

Support ALICE Essential Workers
APRIL 1 - JUNE 30, 2021
ALICE Workers play a key role in providing essential frontline services and support our local economies but many lack sufficient income, adequate health coverage and access to other benefits that would help them withstand the COVID-19 crisis.
You can create personal messages of encouragement, send gift cards to show appreciation and make cash donations to offer assistance. Find out more HERE.
AUGUST 1 - OCTOBER 30, 2021
Literacy and early learning are critical to ensuring children are ready for kindergarten and reading at grade level by third grade. We are collecting new, age appropriate books for distribution to Head Start Classrooms throughout our area as well as constantly updating our virtual Storytime on Facebook and YouTube. We still need volunteer readers!
