ALICE Stories

Rappahannock United Way is working with United Ways throughout the state on a data report of financial hardship in Virginia.  This is the ALICE Report – ALICE stands for Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed.
As we prepare to share this report with the community we would like to be able to tell the story of the real life ALICE population in our community.  Please click here to learn more about finding ALICE families in our community.

Advocacy Opportunity

The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) helps millions of workers here in the Fredericksburg area and across the country keep more of what they earn to pay for things like reliable transportation to get to work, housing, and food.  How can you help advocate for people who are eligible for this credit?

  1.  Advocate to expand the EITC.
  2.  Spread the word - help families and friends connect to the EITC through our Free Tax Prep Program.

To learn more about how to take ACTION, visit our Advocacy page.  YOU can make a difference TODAY.
