We all know that stress can impact our lives every day, and that we should work to avoid stress as much as possible. But, what do you do when you have a job that requires you to be stressed? What happens when your role is inherently stressful? Self-Care in the Trauma-Informed Era is a highly interactive training that focuses on the specific types and impacts of job-related stress on Human Services Providers. This training teaches the impacts of stress on the brain, provider-specific burnout, and the role of organizational trauma. Participants learn how stress and observed trauma can impact thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Additionally, participants are able to work collectively to identify self-care techniques, shared coping strategies, and ways to use stress levels in positive ways. Each participant will walk away with a better awareness of stress-management and their very own Adult Self Care Bag!
Presented by the Community Collaborative for Youth and Families and hosted by Rappahannock United Way.
