RUW Program Participant Earns $25,000 College Scholarship
We’d like you to meet Caleb. He’s a senior at Stafford High School and has been accepted to Albright College where he’ll receive a presidential scholarship of $25,000 a year!
What’s the key to this young man’s success?
One factor is Caleb’s participation in Rappahannock United Way funded Education programs at Stafford Junction since he was in elementary school. Currently Caleb participates in the Brain Builder program supported by Rappahannock United Way. This program was designed to help students with homework, focuses on Math and Reading, and teaches kids the skills they need to achieve their potential in school. The program currently runs in eight public schools in Stafford County serving 133 students grades kindergarten through 12. As a high school student, Caleb attends once a week.
The Rappahannock United Way funded programs that helped shape Caleb allowed him to develop behaviors that will lead to his graduation and beyond. Caleb currently lives in a motel room with his four brothers and mother and father. When you donate to Rappahannock United Way, you help local children like Caleb succeed. It’s amazing what can happen when we work together.
