“You’ll see it when you believe it.”
-Dr. Wayne Dyer
You may be new to this newsletter, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Bobby Hebert, Corporate Relationship Manager at Rappahannock United Way. Thank you for agreeing to volunteer as a campaign coordinator for our upcoming campaign.
The power of belief may the most potent gift we possess.
In 1954 Roger Bannister did the impossible. He broke the 4 minute mile barrier, a feat that was considered unimaginable up to that point. When asked how he accomplished the impossible, Bannister replied that he simply ran the perfect race over and over again in the movie screen of his mind. Visualization: Bannister saw the impossible as possible. The power of Bannister’s belief was a tonic to the running world. To date, thousands of runners worldwide have run a sub-four- minute mile, some of them in high school.
As we get ready for Rappahannock United Way’s fall fund raising campaign, I am planning do some visualization of my own. Will you join me? I see us teaming up to create an exciting, uplifting campaign that will fuel the imagination and generosity of every person we encounter. Yes, I do believe that we are going to shatter giving goals from past years, but more importantly, I believe that energy released by our combined efforts will foster new growth in our personal lives as well. I can’t wait.
