The Local Government Campaign provides people who work in the governments and schools in the City of Fredericksburg and Counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford with an opportunity to support the work of local charitable organizations. It is the only opportunity that local government and school employees have to make contributions through the convenience of payroll deduction.
The campaign is overseen by a committee of representatives composed of employees from the various government and school districts called the Local Government Campaign Coordinating Committee. They established the guidelines for the campaign, selected Rappahannock United Way as Fiscal Agent/Campaign Consultant to serve as the administrator for the campaign, and evaluated the agencies that applied for inclusion in the campaign. In each step of the process, the interests of local government and school employees were given top priority.
The Local Government Campaign also provides people who work in the governments and schools in the City of Fredericksburg and counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford with an opportunity to support the work of Rappahannock United Way and local charitable organizations. It is the only opportunity that local government and school employees have to make contributions through the convenience of payroll deduction.

This is a total designation campaign, which permits you to choose up to four federations or agencies to receive your gift. There is a section on your pledge form where you can indicate which agencies you wish to support. Each agency listed has a code. By writing the code numbers for the agencies you wish to support, you designate that only those agencies will receive your contribution. You may choose to support an entire group of agencies that is represented by one of the federations in the campaign. If you designate to a federation, your contribution will go to support all of the represented agencies of that federation. Note: Due to administration bookkeeping, there is a minimum designation of $50 per agency per year.
All undesignated funds will go to Rappahannock United Way for allocation based upon local, priority needs.
For the 2015 campaign, please encourage your favorite write-in nonprofit organization to apply to the 2015 Local Government Campaign, as write-in designations are no longer be available.
