Volunteer Train Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) - Classes Run All Year - training that prepares individuals to help sustain lives following a disaster until help arrives. American Red Cross - First Aid & CPR certification, plus a wide variety of disaster training classes. Adopt a Shelter Program – a network of local shelters providing a safe haven in our community during times of disaster. Faith based organizations, schools and businesses with suitable facilities and/or volunteers are being sought. Citizen Corps Councils – harnesses the power of every individual to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to disasters of all kinds. Rappahannock Region Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (RR VOAD) – a collaboration of local emergency services, non-profits, faith-based organizations, businesses, schools and civic groups working together to prepare and respond to disasters.
