Volunteers at the RUW tax site in 2012

No experience or prior tax filing knowledge is needed to join the tax preparation team! Rappahannock United Way is looking for volunteers to be tax site greeters, tax service screeners, tax preparers, tax coaches, credit counselors and workshop presenters. Attending the event does not commit you to volunteer—the event is for information purposes only.
Tax program volunteers are the key to helping working families unlock the door to a more secure financial future.
By having my taxes prepared by Rappahannock United Way I didn't have to stress over one more issue… I walked out feeling relieved that not only were my taxes done but I didn't have to try and figure out how I was going to pay for having my taxes prepared on top of owing the government.
– Judith, a Fredericksburg resident who has benefited from the Free Tax Program.
With the help of local volunteers last year, 1,066 free tax returns were filed for local residents, which saved them over $220,000 in tax preparation fees and returned a collective $1.5 million.
Please join us on November 15 to learn how you can LIVE UNITED and give back to your community by volunteering for the Free Tax Program.
